The Democratic Duchy of Francisville would today have celebrated her ninth anniversary. On the 28th November 2008, James Stewart proclaimed the foundation of a new micronational nation-state. Francisville started from the humble promulgation of a constitution scratched onto old typewriter paper and presented to those interested parties who had expressed their interest in a new micronational project. National Day was celebrated in Francisville every November 28th from her first anniversary in 2009 through to the period of the Federal Republic of Francisville, founded some four years later. Francisville unfortunately no longer occupies a place within the micronational community. However, those of us with some affecting for the little land we once called our home, our nation, and our true political expression. We have begun Historic Francisville as a place to preserve, curate, and present the history of Francisville, her legacy, and her cultural heritage. The aims of this website are quite broad and we hope to expand as much as possible, giving a new portal into the history of a country which once took a key place within the community of MicroWiki states. We hope that those members of the community with a fond memory of our nation will engage with us in preserving our memory for years to come. We have begun with two key projects:
